FIELD: ecology; purification of air from toxic admixtures. SUBSTANCE: mixture is first swirled and then it is moved in way of axis of rotation at circumferential velocity inversely proportional to radius of rotation and is simultaneously turned to axial direction. During turn, gas mixture is separated into fractions which are then decelerated due to inertia and are discharged to separate reservoirs. Device for realization of this method consists of two funnel-shaped concave acceleration and deceleration chambers whose narrow sides are brought in communication through circular passage; acceleration chamber is provided with guide apparatus at its inlet and deceleration chamber is divided into separate sections by partition which is equidistant relative to walls of chamber. When flow passes through acceleration chamber, lighter fraction of mixture is concentrated in layer located on side of axis of rotation which is separated from layer of lesser concentration and enters deceleration chamber where it is decelerated due to inertia. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 3 cl, 2 dwg
