FIELD: chemistry of heterocyclic compounds. SUBSTANCE: present invention describes thiazolidine compounds of general formula I: 
wherein R1 is C1-C5 alkyl; R2 and R3, the same or different are C1-C5 alkyl, C1-C5 alkoxy or R2 and R3 together form benzene ring; in this case R1 is hydrogen or halogen atom or C1-C5 alkyl; R4 and R5 are hydrogen atom; Y1 and Y2, the same or different, are hydrogen atom, C1-C5 alkyl, aliphatic carboxy acyl group having from 1 to 7 carbon atoms or pyridinecarbonyl; W is single bond or C1-C5 alkylene; Z is hydrogen atom or 1/X equivalent of cation in which X is cation charge. Present invention describes two methods or preparation of compounds of formula I and method of reducing sugar content in blood of mammals using said compounds.
