METHOD FOR LOADING LENGTHY ARTICLES TO RAILWAY ROLLING STOCK Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: railway transportation. SUBSTANCE: this relates to loading rail sections to rolling stock with purpose of their repeated later use. According to method, head portions of lengthy articles are raised, rolling stock is moved under lengthy articles as far as possible, then end portions of lengthy articles are pulled up to locking device of railway flat-car and are fixed. Before this latter operation rolling stock is stopped, loaded portion of article is fastened by means of locking device on flat-cars of rolling stock, tail part of rolling stock with loaded articles is braked primarily by using rail shoes, then braked part of rolling stock is detached, and rolling stock is moved forward by locomotive away from braked part. By this, lengthy articles are pulled over braked part of rolling stock, and sagging of articles is created between both parts of rolling stock. Movement of rolling stock is continued until ends of articles reach locking device. Then aforesaid fastening of ends of articles is effected on braked part of rolling stock. Earlier loaded part of articles is released, rolling stock is moved towards its braked part until connecting with it. Thus sagging of lengthy articles is taken out, and head end of articles is moved on supporting rollers along flat-cars of rolling stock. EFFECT: high efficiency. 5 dwg
