FIELD: medical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: device has casing, movable bushing having supporting member, mounted in the casing with restricted reciprocating movement to be allowed for applying static load to the eyeball through the eyelid. Rod having flat base is mounted in bushing cavity. It is movable relative to support member and allows shock action for deforming eyeball through eyelid. The device has at least one measuring winding placed in movable bushing. Permanent magnet is mounted on the rod, and the measuring winding is set relative to the permanent magnet in a way that it allows controlling rod movement direction and speed. The measuring winding is connected to control, treatment and display unit to create voltage of opposite polarities to return the rod in the initial position and producing rod movement impulse towards the support member transforming signal from the measuring winding and displaying the obtained results.
EFFECT: high accuracy in measuring intraocular pressure also by patient himself; usability in mass glaucoma studies; enhanced effectiveness of treatment; reduced risk of infectious complications; enabled treatment without applying anesthesia.
