FIELD: metallurgy, namely repairing lining of converter.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of feeding oxygen to converter at flow rate 0.6 - 2.0 m3/min per ton of steel with use of horizontal streams together with exothermic magnesia mixture for 0.2 - 15 min after metal discharging; applying slag coating onto lining by supplying nitrogen from upwards onto slag at relation of nitrogen flow rate to oxygen flow rate being in range 1.1 - 7.0 ; before or during nitrogen supply adding fluxes containing calcium and magnesium oxides in quantity consisting of 0.3 - 95.0% of quantity of exothermic magnesia mixture blown-in by means of oxygen. Quantity of exothermic magnesia mixture blown-in by means of oxygen is in range 10 - 60 kg/t of melt steel.
EFFECT: enhanced strength of converter lining.
