FIELD: geology. SUBSTANCE: examined medium is probed by axial symmetry feed of current having pulse form with the use of current generator 1, feeding electrode 2 located in center of circumference formed by feeding electrodes 3 connected to electrode 2 by beam lengths of supply line. Signals of magnetic and electric components of transient process are measured. Then medium is additionally probed by feed of current with the aid of two diametrically opposite feeding electrodes 3 that form feeding line AB. Geoelectric section of holding medium is plotted by results of additional probing. Anticipated values of signals of transient process are determined for case when obtained section includes model of desired-for object with various parameters. Results of comparison of measured and anticipated signals of transient process are used to judge presence or absence of sought-for object and its parameters in examined medium. In this case period of pulses of current fed into ground and moments of starts of measurements are synchronized with standard signals of time and frequency of receivers 7 of satellite radio navigation station and amplitude value of pulses of current is synchronized with the use of adjustable current stabilizers 5.
