FIELD: prospecting using electromagnetic field formation. SUBSTANCE: method involves excitation of electromagnetic field by means of axial-symmetry application of electric current to Earth by means of supply electrodes one of which is located in center of circle which is shaped by other grounded electrodes which are uniformly arranged. Then method involves surface measurement of field formation signals and judging structure of environment under investigation. Number of supply electrodes which are grounded in circle, conforms to condition that magnetic constituent of field formation signal is less than given level which is equal to level of electromagnetic noise or half of maximal value of magnetic constituent of field formation signal caused by environment under investigation. presence or absence of local object in environment is judged by map of equal levels of magnetic constituent of field formation signal caused by environment under investigation corresponding to their maximal values.
