FIELD: automotive industry; brake systems of automobiles and tractors. SUBSTANCE: brake system is provided with twin wheels on all axles or on some of axles. Twin wheels can be separated from one another, one of wheels being disconnected from brake mechanism. Such effect is obtained on multiple-axle truck-tractors and trailers (trailer-trains). Separated wheels or axles without brake mechanisms do not take part in braking process and, consequently, coefficient of wheel-to-road pavement adhesion in side direction is maximum and provides side reactions of wheels which prevent skidding, jackknifing and loss of control. EFFECT: prevention of skidding, jack-knifing and loss of control under hard road conditions. 2 cl, 4 dwg
