FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed brake mechanism can be used in brake systems of trailer- trains with fifth-wheel movers. According to invention, wheels of semitrailer are installed on separate hubs, i.e. are separated. Different braking forces can be applied to separated wheels by means of proposed mechanism. For this purpose paired brake chamber of different size (type) are used. At different brake forces on wheels margin of side adhesion coefficient (ϕy) on wheels will be different, being greater where brake force is lower. Moreover, different use of adhesion coefficients (ϕx) in value makes it possible to provide maximum efficiency of braking, while efficiency on other wheel can be lower, but stability of movement without slipping will be provided.
