A BLOOD-STOPPING TOURNIQUET Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, medicinal equipment and appliances. SUBSTANCE: a blood-stopping tourniquet is suggested for temporary bleeding stoppage at damaged limbs. Tourniquet contains a nonstretchable and a stretchable belts made of a material supplied with special marks which correspond to compression effort for a shoulder and a shin being 4.3 kg, for a hip being 12.7 kg, at the same time it is connected in succession with a nonstretchable belt being undetachable at its one edge, at another edge it has a fixing buckle of rectangular shape which is supplied with a clamping element designed as a mobile plank. EFFECT: more simplified construction that enables to apply it quickly upon a damaged limb, moreover, all operations could be done by one hand only at minimal physical efforts. 2 dwg
