FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method of two-layer nodulizing of agglomeration charge involves successively loading two layers of agglomeration charge with different thickness and different solid fuel and moisture contents onto moving nodulizing carriages followed by kindling charge and thereby creating reduced pressure under nodulizing carriages. According to invention, before nodulizing of agglomeration charge, one additionally determines percentage of fraction below 1 mm in each agglomeration charge layer and nodulizing process is conducted with variable velocity of displacement of nodulizing carriages determined from equation: V=K(M+N)hqP/(m+n)HQ where V is velocity of displacement of nodulizing carriages, m/min; H and h thicknesses of lower and upper layers, respectively, mm; M and m solid fuel contents in lower and upper layers, %; N and n percentages of fraction below 1 mm in lower and upper layers of agglomeration charge; Q and q moisture contents in lower and upper layers, %; P underpressure under nodulizing carriages, Torr; K empirical coefficient reflecting velocity of nodulizing of charge in the two layers, equal to 0.001- 0.015 m/min (Torr).
