FIELD: metallurgy, in particular, processes of preparation of raw materials for blast-furnace conversion. SUBSTANCE: method includes successive supply onto moving sintering cars of two layers of sinter burden of different thickness values and with different content values in each of solid fuel and moisture, subsequent ignition of burden and building up of rarefaction under sintering cars. Prior to sintering of sinter burden determined additionally is content of fraction of less than 1 mm in burden each layer; and ratio of thickness values of burden layers is calculated by the following relationship , where H, h are thickness values of burden lower and upper layers, respectively, mm; M, m are content values of solid fuel in burden lower and layers, respectively, %; N, n are content values in sinter burden of fraction less than 1 mm in lower and upper layers, respectively, %; Q, q are content values of moisture in burden lower and upper layers, respectively, %: P is rarefaction under sintering cars, mm, water column: K is empirical coefficient characterizing the rate of burden sintering in both layers equalling 0.0006-0.003, mm, water column. EFFECT: higher stability and productivity of sintering of sinter burden, increased strength of produced sinter and sinter yield. 1 tbl
