FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: the offered method includes successive loading onto moving sintering cars of two layers of sinter burden with different thicknesses and content of fuel and moisture. Thickness of burden layers is determined by the relation offered by the invention description. EFFECT: higher stability and productivity of sintering process, increased strength of produced sinter and sinter yield, reduced consumption of fuel and iron charge. 1 tbl
