METHOD FOR TREATMENT OF INJURY OF PELVIS RING AND COMPRESSION-DISTRACTION APPARATUS FOR ITS EMBODIMENT Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, in particular, traumatology and orthopedics; may be used in treatment of patients with severe injury of pelvis ring, in particular, its rear parts - sacrum fracture or dislocation raptures of pelvis-sacroilic articulation, fractures of Malgeny. SUBSTANCE: with horizontal position of patient, after treatment of operation field, two wires are introduced with their thrust against spina anterio superior of each iliac bone. The second pair of wires is introduced near the point of outlet of front wires from front to rear at boundary between front middle third of crest. Wires are introduced without thrust, then they are pulled forward to form bayonet-shaped bend forming rest and is again returned to initial position. Wires are introduced almost perpendicular to vertical axis of patient body at an angle of 8-10 deg to sagittal plane. They protrude at the boundary between middle and rear thirds of crests. Introduced into spina anterior inferior of iliac bones to depth of 3 cm are threaded rods. Then, mounted on wires and threaded rods is supporting ring from two arcs which are closed over front and rear surfaces of pelvis by adjusting threaded bars on brackets. Ring is levelled and centralized with respect to patient's pelvis to make angle of 60-75 deg to horizontal plane. Fixed to this ring are wires and rods with use of bracket, threading supporting struts, bolts for fixing wires, nuts to provide reposition in all planes of displacement to attain rigid fixing.
