FIELD: technical microbiology. SUBSTANCE: method is used for producing alcohol from the whey serum. Whey serum and additional hydrocarbon raw are fermented. Nutrient salts are added to the mass to be fermented and obtained mash is distilled off to alcohol. Two yeast culture are added to the mass to be fermented: yeast Candida sp. KI (VKPM Y-2220) and yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, strain XII. Ratio of whey serum and additional hydrocarbon raw is at the range from 1:10 to 1:20. Total concentration of medium components to be fermented is preferably from 8% to 15%. Nutrient salts is K2HPO4 at amount 0.18-0.42 g/l that is added to medium to be fermented.
