FIELD: HYGIENIC MEANS. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to onetime-demand absorbing products such as swaddling clothes or grownup pads. Absorbing structure contains a multitude of particles of basically hydrogel-forming polymer material prepared by polymerization in solution. Particles have narrow distribution: at least about 70% of them pass through American standard sieves with 297-mcm holes and are retained on American standard 170 mesh sieves with 88-mcm holes. Structure is prepared by mixing 0.12 to 5 parts of inorganic powder such as amorphous silica with 100 parts of hydrogel- forming material particles.
