FIELD: cleaning of flue gases of high-resistance dust. SUBSTANCE: method is based on introduction of chemical agent into dust-gas flow, methane is used as chemical agent. Prior to feeding gases to electrostatic precipitator, they are passed through barrier discharge zones excited in the system of plane- parallel electrodes covered by a layer of homogeneous dielectric and installed in gas conduit along the gas flow. Restoration of metals from oxides contained in dust particles results in an abrupt reduction of dust electrical resistance, which positively counts at subsequent dust suppression by electrostatic precipitator. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of dust coagulation at passage of barrier discharge zone due to suppression of dust particles measuring less than one micrometer. 1 dwg
