FIELD: machining of materials by cutting at engineering plants for effective combination abrasive machining of blanks of various metals predisposed to defects. SUBSTANCE: coarse and fine grinding is accomplished simultaneously by several (at least three) wheels installed at angle α to the plane perpendicular to the common axis of rotation of wheels. The extreme wheels do not receive forced rotation in contradistinction of the middle one (ones), and their working cutting layers have oscillatory motions along the common axis with amplitude A, depending on the outside diameter of wheels D and angle α. Scratches are formed on the machined surface in axial direction that are perpendicular to the scratches made by the middle wheel (wheels). The rate of oscillations of the extreme wheels equals the rate of rotation of the blank. Besides, the extreme wheels are made flexible, fine-grained, and their rotation is provided due to frictional forces. EFFECT: enhanced stability of cutting tool, capacity and quality of machining. 2 cl, 2 dwg, 1 ex
