FIELD: optical projection systems. SUBSTANCE: system has active array, array of M x N thin-film control structures each incorporating first and second control sections, each section having at least one thin-film layer of displacement-initiating material, pair of electrodes each placed on top and bottom surfaces of displacement-initiating thin-film layer, array of M x N supporting members each being used for holding control structures in respective positions by securing them on one end and for interconnecting each structure and active array, and array of M x N reflecting layers meant for reflecting light beams; each reflecting layer includes first side, second opposite side, and central section in-between where first and second sides of each reflecting layer are secured on top of first and second sections of respective control structures so that when first and second control sections in each control structure are deformed under the action of electric signal applied between first and second electrodes, central section of respective reflecting layer deflects and remains flat to provide for reflecting light beams from entire central section thereby raising optical efficiency.
