FIELD: recovery of radioactive wastes by melting them. SUBSTANCE: recovery of radioactive wastes of mineral-wool heat insulation by melting them with use of fluxing agents which contain metal oxides in their composition is proposed to be conducted with use of FeO in the amount of 10 to 25% of waste mass as flux. This will increase content of radioactive oxides in final product from 58- 70 to 80-91 mass percent without raising process temperature above 1200 C and will ensure 20 to 40 fold reduction in volume of wastes to be disposed. EFFECT: improved environmental friendliness of method. 1 tbl
