FIELD: production of technical silicon and its alloys by reduction smelting in electric furnaces. SUBSTANCE: in discharge of silicon from furnaces it is passed through jet of compressed air enriched with oxygen. In so doing, jet of compressed air is enclosed from sides. Degree of silicon purity from calcium and aluminum depends on the content of oxygen in air-oxygen mixture. EFFECT: higher quality of silicon. 3 cl, 1 tbl
