FIELD: generation of sealing, moisture-protection and other functional layers on surfaces of articles, in particular, for book storage, museums, exhibitions, and so on for conservation of porous materials and hardening fragile peeling findings. SUBSTANCE: device has serial circuit of sublimation chamber 1, pyrolysis chamber 2, vapor pre-cooling chamber 3, deposition chamber 4 with holders 5 for articles 6, as well as unit for cooling articles. Invention also discloses design of unit for cooling articles, which is designed as at least one ampoule with cooling agent. Holders of articles and ampoule with cooling agent are connected to drive 8 for its rotation which provides possibility of reverse movement. EFFECT: decreased processing losses of source material, deeper penetration of monomer vapors into articles under processing. 4 cl, 3 dwg
