FIELD: mechanical engineering and instrumentation; welding and soldering. SUBSTANCE: reflector with electrodes (cathode and anode) in electrode holders and screen transparent for light flux are arranged in cooled housing. Anode displacement unit is made in form of solenoid whose core is arranged in chamber communicating with inner space of reflector. Chamber accommodates pull-back spring and tie-rod. One end of tie-rod is connected with anode and the other, with solenoid core to provide its displacement. Electric motor is placed in housing behind solenoid. Output shaft of electric motor is connected with solenoid. Reflector is installed in housing for displacement to align cathode area of arc discharge with reflector radiating focus. EFFECT: provision of smooth, adjustable speed of anode displacement, enhanced efficiency of device and its operation reliability. 2 cl, 1 dwg
