FIELD: urban and industrial water supply systems. SUBSTANCE: velocity-type transducer including total pressure line in the form of pressure tube, static pressure line, connection line in the form of two tubes, sensitive element in the form of partition placed between two tubes for movement to extreme positions under action of water head, four-way solenoid valve and microswitches is installed in pipe-line. Achieving one of extreme positions sensitive element forms information pulses by means of which provision for change of action of water head on opposite one is ensured. Value of instant flow rate is judged by repetition frequency of pulses and their number is used to evaluate total flow rate.
