FIELD: method and equipment for maintenance and operation of internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: method involves heating diesel fuel, preferably flooded fuel, separating, filtering and treating with additives; providing additional treatment in case fuel contains, % by weight: water below 0.3; contaminants below 0.1, or water and contaminants of the same content, provided storage time of preliminarily heated fuel without stabilizing additives does not exceed 10 days. Method allows several rearrangable versions of preliminary and additional treatment of diesel fuel to be employed. EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved quality of diesel fuel. 3 cl, 1 dwg
