FIELD: metallurgy, in particular, lining of melting furnace walls. SUBSTANCE: furnace wall lining comprises a refractory layer having a hot face or fire surface that is open to the furnace interior, a great number of components made of high heat-conducting material such as copper rods or wires passing from the furnace jacket to the refractory lining. The components provide for continuous path of heat abstraction to the furnace jacket, they are dispersed in the refractory lining for provision in essence of homogeneous temperature on the furnace fire surface in the vicinity of the components. The wall lining may be made by attachment of a number of components to the inner wall of the jacket and application of refractory material onto the inner wall. EFFECT: enhanced service life of lining due to exclusion of temperature gradient on its hot face surface. 19 cl, 6 dwg
