FIELD: food industry, more particularly preparation of lactulose concentrate used in dairy products of child's and dietetic feeding. SUBSTANCE: method comprises dissolving lactose in demineralized water at 70-80 C till lactose concentration reaches 33-37 % in solution. Solution is purified by activated carbon in amount of 0.5-1.0% with respect to weight of lactose solution, and process is carried out under constant agitation for 14-16 minutes. Solution is subjected to coarse purification by separation or filtration in vacuum. Method makes it possible to increase lactose concentration in solution and increase yield of lactulose and reduced consumption of activated carbon.
