FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to defense equipment, specifically to artillery projectiles. Artillery projectile comprises a housing with a groove, in which is installed with a gap and possibility of rest against its front end of a freely rotating drive belt, consisting of a metal ring with a sealing element of plastic material, wherein sealing element is freely movable along metal ring, metal ring is made expanding in direction of front end of groove, wherein inner surface of sealing element is made equidistant with contact surface of metal ring, and outer diameter of sealing ring does not exceed shell size, wherein the sum of the maximum thicknesses of the ring and the sealing element exceeds the maximum size from the bottom of the groove to the caliber of the projectile.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of obturation of artillery shells in rifled and smooth-bore artillery pieces due to overlapping the gap between the driving band and the barrel of the weapon, provided the projectile revolutions, at which the projectile control system elements can function.
