FIELD: base stations of mobile digital communication systems. SUBSTANCE: single group is subdivided into set of sub-groups, and set of main and stand-by base stations, each incorporating set of sectors, is sequenced in each of respective sub-groups. Then shift of pseudorandom-noise pilot signal is allocated to each sector so as difference in pseudorandom-noise signal shifts between particular sector and next one in same base station were equal to pilot-signal increment multiplied by number of sub-groups in group corresponding to sector number, that difference in shifts of pseudorandom-noise signals in similar sectors of respective base stations of different sub-groups were consistent with pilot- signal increment, and that difference in shifts of pseudorandom- noise signals of similar sectors in particular base station and in next one in same sub-group were equal to number of sub-groups multiplied by number of sectors in base station and by pilot- signal increment. EFFECT: improved allocation of pseudorandom-noise signal shifts. 12 cl, 12 dwg, 5 tbl
