FIELD: plant selection. SUBSTANCE: method involves germinating seeds in thermostat for 20 days on filtering paper at twenty-four hour illumination intensity of 5,000 Lx; chilling in refrigerating chamber in special mode: first seven days at temperature of 0 - +2 C, following three days at temperature of -4 - -5 C. Ratio of bound water content in third leaf of sprouts after and before chilling procedure is used as frost resistance evaluation factor. For comparative evaluation, sorts-differentiators with known frost resistance extent are used. EFFECT: increased efficiency by obtaining reliable results and simplified method. 1 tbl
