FIELD: agriculture, in particular distinguishing of winter and spring forms of culture plants.
SUBSTANCE: claimed method includes 10-days seed couching and germinant cooling in refrigerator at 0 - -2°C. Before couching seeds are steeped in warm (30-35°C) water for 30 min. Then free proline content is determined in germinant leaves before and after cooling for 2 h. On the base of accumulated amino acid amount three plant groups are defined as spring forms (accumulated free proline content of 1.5 or less); facultative forms 1.6-2.5; and winter forms 2.5 or more.
EFFECT: accelerated method for differentiation of winter and spring forms of crop plant.
