FIELD: production of continuously cast hollow bimetallic billets of hard-to-form base metal. SUBSTANCE: base metal is fed to mold along vertical walls through two immersible nozzles arranged at both sides of core. Core is arranged on platform having windows and mounted on two stationary pressure vertical plates. Solidification of base metal is realized on inclined walls. Vertical walls are in the form of heat pipes in which electric heating members with thermocouples are arranged. Before casting vertical plates are heated until temperature t=(1.05-1.1)tm, where tm is melting point of base metal. Two belts before casting are introduced to mold and joined to lock with inner through opening. Diameter of opening is d=(1.01-1.05)do, where do is diameter of core in zone of opening. EFFECT: enhanced quality of billets, increased efficiency of casting process and reliability of apparatus. 4 cl, 3 dwg
