FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: mould of proposed gear has pair of vertical and pair of inclined walls. Water-cooling conduits are made in inclined walls of mould. Vertical walls are manufactured in the form of thermal pipes with electric heating elements and thermocouples. Two strips of metal foreign to cast metal are arranged along inclined walls and their ends are linked in lock with two holes. Casting barrel includes blank bottom with four outlets. Angle "β" of arrangement of two holes in horizontal plane directed towards each bar is tied to distance L between axes of bars and outer diameter "D1" of bar by relation (1.2-1.4)D1/L=sinβ. Bars are anchored in platform with windows that is placed on two pressing vertical plates. Each bar has through hole. Width of inclined side b, outer diameters "D1" of bar and "D2" of barrel, distance L between axes of bars are coupled by relations b(D1)= 1.2-3.0; L/(D1+D2)=1.5-5.0. EFFECT: enhanced operational reliability of gear, raised quality and widened assortment of billets. 1 cl, 3 dwg
