FIELD: analytical chemistry. SUBSTANCE: invention refers to methods of luminescent detection of gold. It can be used in practical detection of gold in alloys, in geological and production materials, in technological solutions. Gold is extracted from solution by means of silica gel chemically modified by mercapto-groups. Intensity of luminescence of complex of gold with mercapto-groups is measured at 77 K on surface of silica gel. EFFECT: reduced relative limit of detection, expanded range of detected concentrations, simplified methodology of detection of gold.
