FIELD: analytical methods. SUBSTANCE: in a method including preparation of copper(II) solution and conversion of copper(II) into complex compound followed by measuring luminescence intensity at 77K, novelty consists in that copper is isolated from solution with the aid of silica gel chemically modified by mercapto groups and luminescence intensity of mercapto complex of copper is measured at liquid nitrogen temperature (77K) at 580 nm directly on the surface of silica gel. EFFECT: lowered detection threshold, extended measurable concentration range, and simplified analytical procedure.
