FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves cutting skin, screwing-in a wire into the femur head through subtrochanteric area, carrying out X-ray control, forming an opening in the cortical bone layer in the vicinity of the wire, introducing a fixing member along the wire and removing the wire. First of all, soft tissues are pierced with tube having mandrin fixed in the tube. The wire is brought through the longitudinal canal in the mandrin into the bone splinters. The mandrin is removed. An opening in the bone is formed through the tube. The fixing member is introduced through the tube along the wire into the femur head. The tube is removed. The device has tube and mandrin, having coinciding bevel planes at their working ends. The working ends of the tube and mandrin are made with coinciding cuts opposite to each other and at an acute angle to the bevel. Bevel angle does not exceed 40 deg and its plane more than twice exceeds the cut plane. The mandrin has longitudinal canal for inserting wire and a slot for holding member mounted on the tube. EFFECT: reduced risk of traumatic complications; enhanced accuracy in introducing fixing member into the bone. 2 cl, 8 dwg
