FIELD: organic synthesis; biologically-active compounds. SUBSTANCE: invention provides novel method for preparing amino derivatives of adamantane with general formula: , wherein either R1 is hydrogen and R2 hydrogen, methyl, or ethyl; or R1 and R2 are both methyl radicals, which compounds are biologically-active substances and those with R1 hydrogen and R2 methyl or ethyl are drug substances. Method consists in reducing nitroalkyladamantanes prepared by interaction of 1,3-dihydroadamantane with nitromethane, nitroethane, 1- nitropropane or 2-nitropropane at molar ratio 1: (10-15) and temperature 100-105 C for 3 h. Reduction of nitro compounds obtained is carried out in presence of hydrochloric acid with 10-fold molar excess of iron cuttings in isopropyl alcohol at 80-85 C for 8 h.
