FIELD: acceleration of solid body (armature) relative to large mass. SUBSTANCE: accelerator has armature, linear drive kinematically coupled with additional armature, insulating case, and several (N) pairs of parallel current-conducting rails forming accelerator channel and fixed within case so that first rails of all pairs and second ones of these pairs are separated by insulating gaps. Armature has electrically isolated conducting jumpers whose number equals that of rail number (N); rails are mounted on common insulator for sliding over rails. Series jumpers are mounted within cross-sectional area of accelerator channel inside its interior. Series jumpers may be secured in channel on separate insulator for sliding over rails and moving along channel to function as additional armature. Reverse-travel limiter of additional armature is mounted at accelerator input. EFFECT: improved reliability. 8 dwg
