FIELD: continuous casting processes and equipment. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of feeding melt metal into space between faces of mold and central core placed in it; forming skin on faces and core, cooling inner surface of billet by water, feeding into mold gas and liquid lubricant; calibrating surface of billet and knocking it out of mold. After knocking billet with dummy bar out of mold top portion of metal is cut off. Liquid lubricant is fed to reduction zone on two vertical faces continuously and on two faces with inclined upper portions - at time moment of separation of face surface from billet. Central core has ducts for supplying liquid lubricant and cooling water. Strain gauge pickups with system for automatic control of liquid lubricant supply and apparatus for cutting off billets are mounted on faces inclined in upper portions. Water splitter is arranged in lower portion of central core. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of casting billets, possibility for making arbitrary-shape hollow billets with guaranteed quality of inner and outer surfaces and small-grain structure, highly reliable operation of plant at effective cooling and lubricating of inner surface of billets. 2 cl, 2 dwg
