FIELD: molecular biology, biotechnology, biochemistry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the prepared nucleotide sequence of DNA fragment encoding enzyme carminomycin-4-O-methyltransferase. Plasmids pWHM 901, pWHM 902 and pWHM 903 containing indicated sequence are constructed. Recombinant strain S. lividans TK 24/pWHM 902 and recombinant strain of E. coli pGP1-2/pWHM 903 as producers of carminomycin-4-O-methyltransferase are obtained. For producing daunorubicin recombinant strains producing carminomycin-4-O-methyltransferase are cultured in medium containing carminomycin followed by isolation of the end substance. Invention ensures to obtain daunorubicin by conversion of carminomycin to daunorubicin used in anticancer therapy. EFFECT: improved method of daunorubicin producing. 8 cl, 4 dwg, 3 ex
