FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology and represents recombinant strain Escherichia coli N16 (pM.AluBI), being a producer of DNA methyltransferase ALuBI, transferring methyl group with S-adenosyl-L-methionine (SAM) on the 6-th nitrogen atom of adenine base of the recognition site, to form the methylated sequence 5′-(m6A)GCT-3′/3′-TCG(m6A)-5′ on both DNA chains. Strain is produced by cells transformation of Escherichia coli RR1 with plasmid pM.AluBI-16. This plasmid is designed on the basis of vector pUC19 and contains the gene, coding DNA-methyltransferase AluBI from natural Arthrobacter luteus B strain. Invention enables to obtain recombinant strain Escherichia coli N16 (pM.AluBI), producing high-yield DNA-methyltransferase with new specificity.
