FIELD: power conversion equipment. SUBSTANCE: method involves continuous regulation of voltage at output of multiple-phase rectifier gate, which is designed using double-operation switching gates and combines amplitude and pulse-width modulation. When control signal is increased, amplitude of mean value of output voltage changes in steps upon transmission from one regulation region into another, and smooth voltage regulation within each region by means of pulse-width modulation. Control pulses are produced using vertical principle by means of simultaneous comparison of control and reference signals, which periodically vary in synchronism to pulses of rectified voltage. Number of reference pulses is equal to number of amplitude regions. Shape of reference pulses differs by shift with respect to level and initial phase. Gate switching in said moments is replaced in alternating order with clock period switching, which coincides with start and middle of each clock pulse. Method may be used for power converters with direct communication between mains and load. EFFECT: increased transmission bandwidth, decreased pulsation of voltage and current. 4 dwg, 1 tbl
