FIELD: bridge engineering. SUBSTANCE: columnar abutment of bridge has built-in-place bored piles, packing, and closet part. Novelty is that packing for single- and double-track bridges is L1 in width across bridge axis, L2 in length along bridge axis, and H in height; all these dimensions are given equation (see description of invention). There is also equation for distance L3 from packing axis across bridge to support center of bridge span.
