FIELD: bridge engineering. SUBSTANCE: bridge support has head and reinforced concrete posts placed together with longitudinal and transversal reinforcement in pre-drilled bores in ground. Novelty is that posts are polyhedral-section structures with plain edges or with at least with part of curvilinear convex edges. Length L of reinforced concrete posts and their maximal cross- sectional area H are given in relevant equations (see description of invention). There are also equations for total cross-sectional area F1 of longitudinal reinforcement, for cross-sectional area F2 of post, for total cross-sectional area F3 of longitudinal reinforcing bars installed in sections along post sides parallel to longitudinal axis of bridge and for total cross-sectional area F4 of reinforcing bars placed in sections along post sides perpendicular to longitudinal axis of bridge. EFFECT: reduced metal input for posts due to optimal arrangement of reinforcing bars in post sections. 12 cl, 10 dwg
