FIELD: manufacture of copper foil by electrolysis. SUBSTANCE: in agreement with invention electrolyte with addition of chemical compound containing mercaptan group, at least one organic compound and chloride ions is used in process of manufacture of electrically precipitated copper foil. Process provides for production of copper foil having high etching index and high rapture strength. As result of it there can be provided precise copying after which no copper bosses of printed circuit board are left in recesses of assembly pattern. Copper foil in this case has high relative elongation at high temperature and high tensile strength. Process provides for production of copper foil which dull side has surface roughness essentially same or less than surface roughness of glittering side.
