Abstract RU 2167317 C2

FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: hydrogen is produced by electrolyzer installed on vehicle. Hydrogen is delivered at ratio of hydrogen mass to mass consumption of main fuel at idling within 0.01 and 0.04. Fuel-air mixture is leaned to air excess coefficient α = 1,2...1,4.. Hydrogen and oxygen is are produced in electrolyzer and are delivered separately from hydrogen and oxygen chambers into pipelines. Hydrogen is directed into intake manifold it mixes with fuel-air mixture which is leaned by means of air getting from atmosphere when valve located on wall of intake manifold is opened. Other pipeline connects oxygen chamber with exhaust system. With engine operating, leaned fuel-air mixture with additional of gaseous hydrogen gets combusted completely and stably at minimum concentration of toxic matters in exhaust gases. EFFECT: reduced consumption of fuel and toxicity of exhaust gases, increased safety of vehicle. 6 cl, 3 dwg
