FIELD: surgical equipment. SUBSTANCE: catheter has cutting tool positioned at its front end and is connected to drive unit. Cutting tool has stator and rotor. Blades arranged perimetrically of stator and rotor cooperate one with the other in a way similar to shears. Rotor is made as outer rotor. Separated deposits are discharged through sleeve-shaped enclosure and discharge chamber into receiving container. Catheter of such construction is used for safe removal of thrombus and stenosis from narrowed blood vessels, such as arteries and veins.
