FIELD: agricultural production. SUBSTANCE: method involves laying sugar beet roots in storage pits. During storage prior to processing, sugar beet roots are exposed for 50 min to constant magnetic field at magnetic induction of 0.1 mT and to amplitude-modulated electromagnetic field at carrier frequency of 1 kHz and modulating vibration frequency within extremely low-frequency band of 3-30 Hz. Method allows saccharose losses in roots during storage to be reduced. EFFECT: simplified method and increased sugar yield upon processing at sugar plants. 1 dwg, 1 ex
