FIELD: storage of agricultural products. SUBSTANCE: method involves laying sugar beet roots in storage pits; mounting permanent magnet and electromagnetic field emitter near storage pit so that maximum number of magnetic induction lines of electromagnetic field permeated through the volume of sugar beet laid in storage pit; exposing roots during storage prior to processing to permanent magnetic field with magnetic induction of 0.1 mT and to electromagnetic field within extremely low frequency band of 3-30 Hz for 40 min. Method allows sugar losses in roots to be reduced during storage at sugar beet plants. EFFECT: increased yield of sugar upon processing at sugar beet plants. 1 dwg, 1 ex
