FIELD: medicine; medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves sending light beam into pupil of lying patient in vertical direction. Eye axis is determined that coincides with the beam axis. Intraocular pressure pickup is suspended and its vertical axis is aligned with the mentioned eye axis. Device has pickup body as clamp being larger in size than vertical transverse lying patient half-head outline with guaranteed gap. The intraocular pressure pickup is suspended to the corresponding cantilever end to enable suspension to lying patient cornea to take place. Laser light source being used, converter with protection partition is produced as transparent one, otherwise it is not transparent in the case other source is applied.
